DAVCO Technology Launches New Shop Pro FXP Series Designed Specifically to Increase Uptime for Fleets
Saline, Michigan (October 18, 2022) – DAVCO Technology, the North American leader in fuel-water separators and a Clarience Technologies company, today announced the launch of the Shop Pro FXP 95 — the latest version of its well-known Shop Pro product, now redesigned with the needs of modern fleets in mind.
“Today’s fleets want to work smarter, better, and faster,” said Joe Schaffer, Director of Engineering at DAVCO. “The new Shop Pro FXP Series takes a holistic approach in helping fleets achieve this goal. First, by enhancing the quality of the equipment itself, and second by improving the ease-of-use for technicians in the field.”
New Filtration Technology and Ergonomic Design Are Hallmarks of New Shop Pro Series
Shop Pro FXP products use the same three-layer filtration technology that is utilized in DAVCO’s newest Fuel Pro models providing better filtering and removal of contaminated fuel, sediment, and water, when transferring fuel or cleaning fuel tanks. The three layer technology strips water from outside the media with two inside stripping operations, including a coalescent layer and a hydrophobic layer. This ensures no water will pass thru the filter, even ultra-low sulfur and biodiesel, which are difficult to separate.
In addition to the improved performance of the product, the Shop Pro FXP is also 44 pounds lighter and 15 percent more compact than the previous version. It’s in these features that DAVCO’s creative approach to uptime shines through.
“When fleets think of uptime, they often think of preventative maintenance through telematics and other monitoring devices,” said Schaffer. “While this is a key component of uptime, simplifying operations related to required manual maintenance is critical to getting diesel trucks back on the road faster.”
Seeing is Believing: True Then, Now, and Later
DAVCO’s quest to streamline operations for fleets began long before it’s latest product innovation. Launched in 1993, DAVCO’s Fuel Pro and Diesel Pro products introduced a never-before-seen clear-top filter that offered immediate visual inspection of fuel condition and available filter life. Today, customers ask for the clear top by name, and it’s this transparency that has earned DAVCO the trust of top fleets.
Recently, DAVCO has been using these customer relationships to not only continue innovating for diesel customers, but also to support the transition to an electric and autonomous future of trucking.
In January 2022, DAVCO announced a $3.5 million investment in its Saline, Michigan, campus to create an Advanced Electronics Manufacturing Center, extending its manufacturing capabilities into advanced electronics technologies that will become more prevalent with electric-powered commercial vehicles. The state-of-the-art facility sits adjacent to the existing DAVCO manufacturing facility and is currently producing telematics hardware for another Clarience Technologies company, Road Ready.
Yet, DAVCO’s main focus for the immediate future will be innovations for diesel-powered vehicles like that of the new Shop Pro FXP Series — given that most fleets will continue to operate diesel trucks in some capacity for at least the next decade.
The company is expected to continue making improvements to its existing product lines throughout the next year.

DAVCO Expands Into Electronics Manufacturing
Saline, Michigan (January 4, 2022) – DAVCO, the North American leader in fuel heater/water separators and filter systems for diesel-powered medium- and heavy-duty trucks, off-highway equipment and commercial marine applications, is investing $3.5 million in its Saline, Michigan, campus to create an Advanced Electronics Manufacturing Center, extending its manufacturing capabilities into advanced electronics technologies as the company prepares to capitalize on the arrival of electric-powered commercial vehicles. The state-of-the-art facility sits adjacent to the existing DAVCO manufacturing facility and is expected to be fully operational in early 2022. Company officials expect this new facility will create 20 new positions.
“Over the past 45 years, DAVCO has proudly served customers with industry-leading products and unparalleled customer support and that will not change,” said Laurie Beegle, President at DAVCO. “This new electronics manufacturing facility ensures we will continue to be able to serve commercial fleet customers as their needs evolve once they begin putting electric vehicles into service.”
DAVCO is owned by Southfield, Michigan-based Clarience Technologies, a global leader in advanced transportation technology that includes Truck-Lite, RIGID and Lumitec advanced LED lighting, ECCO and Code-3 safety systems and Road Ready advanced telematics.
A Manufacturing Showcase for the Future of Transportation
The new DAVCO Advanced Electronics Manufacturing Center is housed in DAVCO’s corporate office campus in Saline, Michigan, where work has been underway to transform the space since Fall of 2021. DAVCO fuel filtration products will continue to be manufactured in an adjacent building on the DAVCO campus in Saline and are not impacted by this announcement.
The $3.5 million capital investment includes a clean room for component manufacturing, increasingly more important in next-generation vehicle technologies. The company expects the center will be used often with customers to showcase the capabilities of DAVCO, Clarience Technologies and its entire family of companies and plans for a second phase that will include a modern Customer Experience Center.
Overall, the company expects to hire as many as 20 new positions as the center continues to ramp up operations. Those interested in applying for open positions at the Advanced Manufacturing Operations Center should visit DAVCO.com/jobs.
Center Will Initially Focus on Telematics Manufacturing to Support Road Ready Growth
Operations at the Advanced Electronics Manufacturing Center have already started and DAVCO expects the facility to be fully operational this winter. Initially, the center will be responsible for manufacturing electronics hardware for Road Ready advanced telematics, a company within the Clarience Technologies family. Road Ready offers advanced telematics solutions for commercial transportation and has experienced significant growth this past year. By consolidating manufacturing at the new Michigan facility, Road Ready telematics hardware will be assembled efficiently by an experienced team that’s dedicated to the Road Ready business. Manufacturing includes all Road Ready hardware, mobile communications units, smart bridge integrators, Road Ready proprietary sensors and other related items. As connected vehicle technologies become the digital backbone supporting electric and autonomous vehicles over time, Road Ready expects demand for their solutions to continue reach new heights.
As Commercial Vehicles Go Electric, DAVCO Maintains Strong Customer Focus
While the company has always focused on providing solutions for diesel engines, the reputation that DAVCO has built extends beyond any specific technology. The company has succeeded due to customer focus — listening to customers, identifying their needs and delivering solutions with a laser-like focus. This approach has served customers well, resulting in products built consistently and to the highest quality standard with support that goes above and beyond what’s expected.
As commercial transportation adopts electric vehicle technology in the coming years, DAVCO believes that same customer focus they’ve long embraced will help them embrace a broader role—one of an experienced customer partner armed with the right tools that helps deliver more agile and scalable solutions. This is the reason the company is expanding its capabilities to include advanced electronics solutions. For DAVCO, partnering with and providing more flexible solutions to customers will make the company indispensable once the industry gets a hands-on education as electric vehicles gain widespread adoption.
With many electric vehicles in development today, manufacturers are actively working closely with their supply base to finalize product designs. Once demand accelerates, manufacturers will lean on their supply bases to deliver what’s needed to scale production. Vehicles built on new technology will result in many new components – likely from suppliers who have not previously served the commercial transportation industry. DAVCO sees this as an opportunity to leverage its industry experience, which will be invaluable to OEMs.
“The dramatic fluctuations in vehicle demand experienced in the North American commercial vehicle market – unlike anything seen in any other industry – will only be amplified with electric vehicles. We believe customers will take solace in the fact that we understand what’s required as these fluctuations occur,” said Beegle.

DAVCO Announces New Fuel Pro Options for North American Commercial Truck Market
Saline, Michigan (March 1, 2022) – DAVCO unveiled today the Fuel Pro 385/387/388 models, its latest all-in-one fuel filter, water separator, and fuel preheater for heavy-duty diesel that’s designed to fit Western Star, Volvo, Navistar and Mack Class 8 trucks. With the newest versions of the Fuel Pro joining the Fuel Pro 485/486/487 models, DAVCO three-layer filtration/ water separation technology is now available to work with heavy-duty diesel engines in the majority of Class 8 vehicles in North America.
DAVCO, the North American leader in fuel heater/water separators and filter systems for diesel-powered medium- and heavy-duty trucks, off-highway equipment and commercial marine applications, is owned by Southfield, Michigan-based Clarience Technologies, a global leader in advanced transportation technology that also includes Truck-Lite, RIGID and Lumitec advanced LED lighting, ECCO and Code-3 safety systems, and Road Ready advanced telematics.
Three-Layer Filtration Technology Ensures Maximum Efficiency
The hallmark of the latest Fuel Pro models is its three-layer filtration technology, ensuring the water separation functionality is maintained throughout the life of the filter. While this technology is not new to DAVCO – it was first introduced in the Fuel Pro 485/486/487 models in 2016 – this is the first time this technology will be available on Volvo Class 8 vehicles.
Customers can also choose to add an optional pre-heater, overnight heater and water-in-fuel sensor that will help start and keep the engine running in any weather conditions, based on their specific needs.
DAVCO now also offers fuel-blending as a next step in fuel heat for Class 8 units. While the optional fuel pre-heater and overnight heater on the Fuel Pro 385/387/388 are to aid at start up, the 388 was designed unlike anything available today, using diesel fuel itself instead of engine coolant to provide additional heat during operation. The use of fuel increases efficiency and takes in-operation fuel heat to a whole new level.
New and Improved Shop Pro is 44 Pounds Lighter, Smaller Without Sacrifice
Additionally, DAVCO has officially introduced the new and improved Shop Pro FXP 95, a model that has been redesigned to be 44 pounds lighter and 15 percent smaller than the previous version, improving customer ease-of-use without reducing performance.
Shop Pro FXP 95 also uses the latest three-layer filtration technology utilized in the Fuel Pro 385 model to strip water from outside the media with two inside stripping operations, including a coalescent layer and a hydrophobic layer. This ensures no water will pass the filter, particularly ultra-low sulfur and biodiesel, which have become difficult to separate.
DAVCO Develops Solutions that Fit the Needs of Customers Today, Tomorrow
