Extended Life, Maximized Uptime

Poor-quality diesel and water infiltration can lead to rust, corrosion, and microbial growth that permanently damages critical engine components. Even if parts can be repaired, you can face breakdowns, complicated fixes, and downtime, hindering your operations. You need a fuel water separator you can trust to avoid these issues, which is where our Fuel Pro® series comes in.

Capable of handling fuel flow rates up to 180 gallons per hour, Fuel Pro® diesel fuel filtration and water separation systems are designed to withstand the harshest conditions. As a leader in Class 8 heavy-duty filtration solutions, DAVCO units include optional water-in-fuel (WIF) sensors, fluid heat (return fuel or coolant), electric pre-heaters, and overnight heaters.

Fuel Pro® Is Your Fuel Water Separation Solution

⚠️ The Cost of Getting It Wrong

Fleets waste an estimated 50% or more of unused filter life by changing filters prematurely. On the other hand, when filters clog and water damages an engine:

• A single injector failure can cost up to $20,000
• Downtime can run $400/hour
• Roadside service can amount to an additional $1,250

DAVCO lets you avoid these hardships with systems designed to maximize savings, uptime, and ease of use. Our Fuel Pro® fuel water separators:

Provide all-weather, high-flow performance, handling flow rates up to 180 gallons per hour
Have options for electric pre-heaters, overnight heaters, and fluid heat via return fuel or coolant systems, actively preventing gelling
Feature our Seeing Is Believing® technology that eliminates the guesswork of maintenance and cuts filter replacement costs

Our Seeing Is Believing® technology uses a trademarked clear cover that offers an immediate visual diagnostic of your fuel water separator, letting you spot spent filters, air leaks, and fuel gelling so you can address issues quickly. Here’s what to look for:

Visual Indicator What It Means
Healthy System Fuel level is below the top – the filter is fine
Filter Change Needed Fuel level has reached the top of the filter and low power is present
⚠ Air Bubbles Present Bubbles can be seen floating in the fuel – check all fittings and lines from the fuel tank to the Fuel Pro®, then check the cover and vent cap O-rings
Fuel Gelling Top of the fuel level appears waxen – change the filter and run the engine at idle for a minimum of 25 minutes

FAQs on Fuel Filtration

Does seeing fuel in the clear cover mean I need to change the filter?

No. By using our Seeing Is Believing® technology, you only need to change the filter when the fuel reaches the very top of the filter. If the fuel level is below the top of the filter, it is still operating normally.

How does the Fuel Pro® handle cold weather and gelling?

Fuel Pro® systems offer optional fluid heating (using return fuel or coolant) and electric pre-heaters that raise the fuel temperature to melt wax crystals, preventing clogs and ensuring easy flow in freezing temperatures.

What happens if there’s an air leak in my fuel system?

If you have an air leak, you will be able to visually see bubbles flowing in with the fuel through our clear covers. This allows your technicians to quickly diagnose the issue and check fittings, lines, or O-rings before the problem causes engine failure.

Protect Your Engines with Fuel Water Separators

“The DAVCO is an easy add on that is very easily monitored. When the filter does need to be replaced it takes my technicians about five minutes to completely service this unit. We have seen a significant reduction in the amount of fuel related problems on all the buses that we added the DAVCO product to. The DAVCO system is now part of our specification build sheet for purchasing new buses.”
